  • Drama SA is committed to creating a supportive, sustainable and inspiring drama community which connects, enriches and empowers (South Australian) teachers and practitioners and / or our members.

We believe that drama offers important and intrinsic collaborative and individual learning experiences that help students discover themselves and their world.

  • Drama SA will:

    • Advocate for the positive value of drama in the curriculum, across all schools and for all students.

    • Provide exciting and relevant opportunities for professional learning, resource acquisition and effective teaching strategies.

    • Respond to the needs of its membership community.

    • Proactively identify current drama practices, issues and research for their impact on students and teachers.

    • Collaborate with other organisations to share knowledge, to create cross forums and activities whenever appropriate.

    • Aim to make a positive contribution to its members' professional lives.

  • The Drama Australia Liaison Officer (DALO) role is vital in maintaining a communication link between the association and the Drama Australia Board. To work in support of two-way communication to ensure the national and state or territory bodies can work together effectively in representing and responding to emerging issues like the Australian Curriculum for the benefit of our members.

This representation is essential as your membership of Drama SA gives you an affiliate membership of both Drama Australia, and IDEA (International Drama Educator's Association).
